September 30, 2005: Helpful Hints From The Forums

In case you didn't know, Steve Jackson Games has its own public forums set up here on the website, and e23 has its very own set of message boards set up on it. Sometimes, people swap helpful information on those boards, so helpful it's worth sharing with the e23 community at large.

Today's helpful hint is about the GURPS Magic Spell Charts, an incredibly handy (and free!) set of flowcharts that show exactly what spells are prerequisites to what other spells in the GURPS Fourth Edition magic system. The problem posted on the board was, if you punch holes in a printout of the PDF to put the pages in a binder, the holes will punch through some of the information, because some of the pages are so full that they run very close to the edges.

Two solutions were immediately suggested by other forum posters, and we share them with you: insert the pages in full-page sleeve protectors and put those in the binders, or print the pages at 90%.

Find out what else you can learn about making e23 work better for you – come check out the forums today!

September 23, 2005: RPG Objects Joins Up

I spent a couple of minutes trying to come up with some sort of "Objects of our desire . . . " kind of pun for the title, but it was really going nowhere, so I decided to bag it and just get to the good stuff.

New to the e23 lineup is RPG Objects, a well-known d20 publisher with dozens of products in lines from modern day and science fiction to many different flavors of fantasy. The first products they've sent us are in their Legends of the Samurai line – hit the What's New? link on the side of every page to check out all six new products in the line.

And look for more great stuff from RPG Objects in the very near future.

September 20, 2005: A Dozen More, Fresh From The Oven

Or wherever it is brand-spanking new PDFs come from . . .

Four of our publishers have sent us more new products – I told you things were picking up steam. It's all we can do to get our own publication schedule figured out with all this outside goodness streaming in. But take a look at what we've got:

  • Nine new goodies from Ronin Arts, one of our favorite companies, including three products from Firefly Games worth taking a look at (especially Monster Island, a personal favorite)
  • Another great dungeon crawl from Goodman Games
  • Saloon Fights, rip roarin' Old West mayhem from ComStar Media
  • And More Blasphemous Secrets and Forbidden Lore from Plain Brown Wrapper Games, who certainly know an evocative title when they see one.
All well worth checking out. And we've got more coming later this week!

September 7, 2005: Monkeying Around

Two new products make their debut today, both from the fine folks at MonkeyGod Enterprises and distrbuted by Highmoon Media Productions. MonkeyGod is doing some of the finest d20 work out there today, and these two new books are no exception. Black Ice Well is a high-level adventure for the brave, the virtuous, and the very well-armed, while From Stone to Steel is a book of real-world armor and weapons that puts the "X" in "exhaustive." Be sure to check out the preview link on this one to get a look at their different approach to weapons books.

September 1, 2005: Metacreator Update

The good folks at Alter Ego Software have added another system to their Metacreator line of character creation software. New from them is the Metacreator and Unisystem (Bundle), v.3.8.2, for Eden Studios' Unisystem, the roleplaying engine behind All Flesh Must Be Eaten, Armageddon, and CJ Carella's WitchCraft.

Alter Ego also updated all their other Metacreator products – if you were a registered owner, you should have received an email about the update, with information on how to download your free copy of the new version. If you think you should have gotten one of those update emails but didn't please let us know at e23@sjgames.com.
