December 27, 2005: On Holiday

Nobody's here. e23 is closed for the holidays, like the rest of Steve Jackson Games. This is the last message you'll see until Jan. 3 or 4 . . . or so. Depends on how piled up the email and everything else is then.

Of course, if everybody else is also taking it easy, it shouldn't be too bad . . . we'll see.

December 26, 2005: . . . And Some Bad News

Unfortunately, the moving chaos and the holidays have pushed GURPS WWII: Their Finest Hour into the first week of January, not December as promised. Sorry about that. We think you'll like it when you see it, though. Hang in there.

December 25, 2005: Ho! Ho! Ho!

December 24, 2005: An Early Christmas Present

We've just posted a brand new free game aid for GURPS Fourth Edition, GURPS Combat Cards. The cards are the brainchild of two of our fans, Robert L. Beaver and Andy Normansell, who both sent us submissions within a week or two of each other. We took the best ideas from each design and came up with what you can now download here for free!

We will not announce this freebie's existence to the general public until Christmas Day at the earliest, so this is a chance for you e23 faithful to grab this one before the virtual lines get long and the bandwidth gets clogged. (We're pretty sure we can handle the onslaught, but you never know . . .)

Hope you're having a great holiday!

December 23, 2005: GURPS WWII Core Rules Now For Sale!

It was a near thing, but the GURPS WWII Core Rulebook is now posted and ready for download here at e23. It's a good-looking PDF (if I do say so myself), and I hope you'll check it out and consider adding it to your collection.

Enjoy . . . and Merry Christmas!

December 20, 2005: Websnark Loves Eli!

Nice words written over the weekend by the web comics blogger Eric Burns over at Websnark. Turns out he's a big In Nomine fan, and he loves what we're doing with the line here at e23! An entry dated Dec. 16 (you'll have to scroll down to read it -- he's a very prolific blogger . . .) had some very nice things to say about In Nomine Superiors: Eli, so if all my begging and pleading hasn't convinced you yet, maybe his enthusiastic review will get you to give it a look.

December 15, 2005: When You Think About It, It's ALL Zeros And Ones

While you're still recovering from the mad rush to grab a copy of In Nomine Superiors: Eli (just went on sale yesterday, you know, in case you haven't clicked over and picked one up . . . remember, nothing says "Merry Christmas!" like the gift of an In Nomine PDF!), it's time to check out the latest and greatest new company to grace the digital pages of e23:

01 Games is Italy's gift to fantasy roleplaying in the person of one Mario Barbati, a man who has been plying the PDF trade for a few years now and is one who has definitely gotten it right. He has a huge line of product (he sent me over 75 products to post!), and we are just getting started on getting it up and available. The move and the holidays won't help, either.

But I took a little time yesterday to get a few up, and you should really check them out. Mario is doing things with the technical capabilities of PDFs that nobody else in the field is doing, and he's making maps and floorplans that are simply second to none. A quick look at what's up so far is just a click away.

There will be more good stuff up from 01 Games as soon as I can get to it, so this is a link you might want to consider bookmarking and checking back on. Trust me.

December 14, 2005: Eli's Coming . . .

Midday Update

In Nomine Superiors: Eli is now online and available for sale. Enjoy!

* * *

Uploading at 12 noon today is In Nomine Superiors: Eli, everything you need to know to bring the Archangel of Creation and his servants to your In Nomine game.

Eli was one of Heaven's oldest – and coolest – dudes. Then, a few dozen years ago, he released most of his angels from his service, abandoned the celestial realm, and went for a long walk on Earth. He still hasn't come back. Some Demon Princes think (and Dominic fears) that with the right push, he'll Fall. Others think (and Asmodeus fears) it's all part of a more subtle plan to redeem a Demon Prince. Or some other long-term scheme that will change the balance of the War permanently. You could ask Eli, but hey – guy's been around a long time . . . maybe he just needs a break for a century or two, y'know?

In Nomine Superiors: Eli is written by Genevieve Cogman, author of the e23 In Nomine adventure City on Fire and author or co-author of nine print In Nomine books.

December 13, 2005: Hail To The Kyng, Baby . . .

It's new company time again! The Kyngdoms is the impressive wunderkind of Keith Robinson, who writes, does the layout, creates the maps, and for all I know wrestles the giant squids in the South China Sea for the ink with which to print . . . oh, yeah. PDFs. No ink. I forgot.

Anyway, The Kyngdoms is founded on a fantasy world known as . . . [drum roll, please] . . . The Kyngdoms. There's the exceedingly gorgeous setting book, a couple of adventures out already, a giant map of the world, and an atlas. And he's clearly just getting started.

You can check out the first few products in The Kyngdom's line with just a couple of clicks – then you can say you knew them when.

December 10, 2005: Coming Soon

Just to give you something to add to your last-minute shopping list . . .

In Nomine Superiors: Eli

Of all the Archangels, Eli produces the most contradictory images in the hearts of angels. He is both creator and destroyer – full of life and hope, his future wide-open, but out of control and out of his mind.

Now Eli walks the Earth in various guises, and not even the other Archangels know for sure what he's doing. Insane bacchanalia? Hidden meditation? Consorting with evil? Gossip is rife, and Eli just smiles vaguely . . .

In Nomine Superiors: Eli gives the full lowdown on Heaven's most enigmatic – and least understood – Archangel. Complete information on his history, his servants, his powers, and his relationships with the other major power brokers on both sides of the War. What it's like to play a character in his service, and pages of campaign and adventure ideas centered around Heaven's mysterious Eli.

December 5, 2005: Goodman Had A Reason After All

Silly me. I mentioned a few days ago when announcing Goodman Games' sale for all of December that they didn't say why they were doing it. Turns out, it's their 4th Anniversary. Which is a good a reason as any to discount all 43 of their products here on e23 a whopping 30%! Click here to browse the entire Goodman Games collection.

December 4, 2005: Another Milestone

And yes, we quietly hit another milestone this week as we posted product number 600.

While I'm at it, a few other accomplishments of note:

Congratulations to all these authors, and thanks to our faithful customers.

December 3, 2005: A Perfect Misfit

Time to welcome yet another new company to the lineup of e23 vendors! Misfit Games is the nom de game of one Steven Trustrum, who has some interesting ideas for the d20 rules system and a campaign world all his own he calls SpirosBlaak. Check out what he has to offer with a quick browse in their direction, and watch for more from Misfit and other new companies as e23 marches on.

December 2, 2005: Big Sale At Goodman Games

Goodman Games, purveyors of d20 goodness and one of our biggest and best vendors, is having a sale! They haven't told us if it's a Christmas Sale, or a Year-End Sale, or a Just Because Sale, but it's 30% off everything they have here at e23, and the prices will be good all month! You can find all 43 (and counting – they send us new products all the time) Goodman Games titles with a simple click or two if you know how our "Search" or "Browse" functions work.

Goodman Games has brought back the classic dungeon crawl adventure from the good ol' days of D&D v1.0, but they also have some great stuff for players on the cutting edge of v3.5. Check it out while it's all bargain priced!

December 1, 2005: In Nomine Rolls On With Free Adventure!

Got more In Nomine goodness for you today. The Sorcerer's Impediments is an introductory adventure for In Nomine that includes all the rules you need to know right inside (sort of an In Nomine Lite)! And here's the best part – it's FREE! As in zip. Zilch. Nada.

This is, obviously, a great way to introduce In Nomine to your friends who may have been put off of learning a Whole New Game System all at once. Or if the idea of playing a demon or angel sounded cool to you, but you didn't want to try to learn the game from the book yourself and had no one to teach you, here's an Easy Way In.

And once you're hooked (just like the really good drugs, the first one's free . . .), we've got the In Nomine Core Rulebook for sale here on e23, too . . .
